Call for Paper

The Department of Accounting is  pleased to share with you the exciting news of a special issue in Meditari  Accountancy Research. Ranked ‘A’ in the ABDC journal ranking list, Meditari  Accountancy Research has a strong focus on the social impacts of accounting including issues relating to sustainability, CSR, integrated reporting, non-financial reporting, and technology.

The special issue seeks submissions  examining the socio-political and historical aspects of accounting and auditing in China; and/or accounting research informed by traditional Chinese philosophies (e.g. Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism). Emphasis is given to qualitative and interdisciplinary approaches to research.

International TAX Talk

Despite the pandemic, the Accounting community formed by students and faculty members from IBSS, Mr Edward Wu, the Business Development Manager of East China (ICAEW), Mr. Angus Wong FCA, the Group CFO from Fengseng Property Group, Mr Choon Beng Teoh FCA, the Tax Director from KPMG,  Mr. Matthew Ryan AAT BFP, Senior Teaching Fellow, Accounting Department, and Dr. Samuel Kwok, Programme Director of MSc in Professional Accounting of IBSS,  still manage to keep close with each another online in a Career Development seminar: International Tax Talk on the evening of 15th June, 2022.

 Accounting Career Talk

On 3rd November, Accounting Department of IBSS has successfully held a panel discussion event with guests from ICAEW and Ernst & Young.  Mr Edward Wu (online) from ICAEW who is the Business Development Manager of East China and Mr Simon Li (online) who is an Audit Partner of Ernst & Young joined the discussion with Dr Samuel Kwok, the Programme Director of MSc in Professional Accounting of IBSS.  Dr Peng Cheng welcomed the guests and started the event.
