The Department of Communications and Networking is committed to excellence in research and education in all areas relating to modern communications. Our goal is to ensure that our students meet the needs of future employers and to prepare them for further studies.

We aim to deliver comprehensive education on a large number of communications-related fields, such as:

  • fundamentals and cutting-edge communication systems
  • mobile and wireless systems
  • advanced networking
  • internet of things (IoT)
  • vital transferable skills including cooperative work strategies, organisational awareness and project management.

Our staff are actively engaged in advanced research across the full spectrum of communications technologies, including self-driving cars, biosensors, and the design of localised antenna networks. This research feeds directly into our education, ensuring that our students are exposed to the latest knowledge and technologies. Our staff are highly qualified, including globally recognised professors, associate professors and lecturers.
