Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships

SURF

The department’s SURF projects provide a great opportunity for undergraduate students to gather hands-on research experience in international studies, allowing them practice research methods, engage with data first-hand, and develop organizational and leadership skills.

SURF students have develop surveys and questionnaires, conducted interviews and analyze policy documents, and gathered open-source intelligence, developing their quantitative and qualitative methods skills with the support of their project supervisors.

The Department aims to offer a SURF project each summer. The posters below showcase the results of these projects.
