The BEng Computer Science and Technology programme combines the core elements of electrical and electronic engineering with those of computer science to equip graduates with detailed knowledge of the design and development of both hardware and software.

By the time you graduate from BEng Computer Science and Technology, you will have:

  • an understanding of the fundamentals of computer science and electrical and electronic engineering
  • technical skills in mathematics, hardware engineering, software engineering, design and management
  • the ability to apply and combine knowledge, skills and understanding effectively to investigate and resolve complex problems in research and industrial environments.

Graduates from this programme are well prepared for careers in the information technology industries, electronic design and automation enterprises, electronic and computer equipment manufacturers, project consultancies, and research institutions. The quantitative and other transferable skills you will acquire mean that you could also pursue a career in a non-technical profession such as banking or management.
