Jie Zhang

Profile

Dr. Jie Zhang is the Associate Professor of XJTLU Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy. She obtained her PhD with Professor Xuetao Pei from Academy of Military Medical Science, investigating stem cell differentiation. She then worked as the Associate Director of R&D Center at 3SBio Group. Her research aimed around biopharmaceutical screening and gene reconstruction.

Dr. Jie Zhang became an entrepreneur afterwards and founded NEST Biotech, UP-Pharma, and Planter Biotech, which covered the application of Biotech into cell culture consumables, GLP-complied large molecule pharmacokinetics outsourcing, and TCM cultivation. Since the year of 2009, her research interests have been aiming the Plant Stem Cell-originated TCM Cultivation. She has developed a TCM large-scale production platform based on plan stem cell biopharmaceutical technology.

Dr. Zhang's research mainly focuses on the following directions:
1. The mechanism of Dendrobium Candidium Sprouts (DCS) on diabetes-related inflammation
2. The mechanism of DCS on digestive system-inflammation, tumors and ulcers
3. The scale-up production development of new plant strains
