ProfileDr Qingning Wang is a media scholar, who comes from an inter-disciplinary academic background between media studies and international relation studies. She studied BA in Society, Culture and Media, and MA in International Politics and East Asia. She achieved her PhD in Media and Politics in 2017 at University of East Anglia, UK. Dr Wang worked at University of East Anglia between 2015 and 2019 as a teaching staff and at University Kent as a lecturer in media studies between 2019 and 2021, before she joins XJTLU in July 2021.
She is research active. Her academic researches explore the development and transformation of digital media in China, the political aspects of online linguistic violence, the political functions of digital media in western and non-western contexts, and media’s role in international communication. Her recent research interests draw on environmental communication, and sport and media.
Dr Wang welcomes PhD applications related to international communication and environmental communication.
