Abstract

The PjBL CoP is for staff who are interested in discussing, learning and exploring PjBL initiatives from different subjects and with different student groups. The focus could be case-study sharing, effectiveness discussion, evaluation on student engagement and learning, and any other aims of solving pedagogically problems.

This session will explore practical strategies of PjBL for teachers and students by presenting an innovative PjBL course in Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and a data-literate platform Qlik.

Speaker

Dr Long Huang, Assistant Professor, School of Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem, Taicang Campus, XJTLU. Long Huang received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Maryland, College Park in 2014. Before Joining XJTLU, he led the advanced thermo-fluid simulation team at Daikin Industries Ltd. in Osaka, Japan. His research focuses include: Multiphase fluid flow and heat transfer numerical modeling, as well as thermo-fluid systems simulation and optimization.

Mr Pankaj Muthe, Program Manager, Academic Program, APAC, Qlik. Pankaj Muthe is an MBA from JBIMS, Mumbai, one of the leading business institutions in India. He has 20 years of work experience across education, marketing, consulting, and research sectors. In his earlier roles, he has worked with the Government of Malta’s Ministry of Economy as its Regional Leader and with the University of Edinburgh, which is among the top 20 Universities in the world, as the Country Director.
