Abstract

Some of the best assignments from four courses in the first semester of CCI have been selected for display in this exhibition, including：

FTA421 Introduction to Cultural and Creative Industries

FTA422 Cultural and Media Policies

FTA425 Research Methods for Cultural and Creative Industries

FTA427 Visual Cultures

This year's CCI Excellent Work Exhibition theme is "Check!”. In English, this word brings checkmate, checkerboard, and chequered pattern to mind. It can also mean “to examine”, “to proofread”, or “to make certain that something or someone is correct”. It is also an exclamation used by a chess player to announce that the other player’s king is under direct attack.

Choosing "Check!" as the theme has several implications. Each assignment is not just a module task verifying our skills but more like a clash of our thoughts. It is also our game with our past and future selves, in which we continue to grow and become the generals of our lives.

We are always making sure that we are on the right path. However, life is more than a road; it is a complicated chessboard. No matter your chosen strategy, do not fear making mistakes and play with a firm heart.
