A delegation led by Mr Jun Che, secretary of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, and Mr Jiajun Yuan, deputy secretary of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and governor of Zhejiang Province, visited Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.
The delegation, comprised of party and government officials from Zhejiang Province, visited Suzhou accompanied by Mr Qiang Li, secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, and Mr Dingzhi Jiang, chairman of the Political Consultative Conference of Jiangsu Province.
During their visit to XJTLU, Professor Youmin Xi, executive president of XJTLU, introduced XJTLU’s educational philosophy, social service and exploration in syntegrative education.
“XJTLU aims to become a leader not a follower,” said Professor Xi. He pointed out that XJTLU has successfully formed an educational model for cultivating international professional elites.
“In the next decade, XJTLU will continue to explore the syntegrative education model for cultivating elites and entrepreneurs for future new industries, to realise the syntegration of learning, research, training, entrepreneur and business, and will carry out syntegrative education through Industry and Company Tailored Education (IETE), Entrepreneur College (EC) and Innovation and Entrepreneur Community (IEC),” added Professor Xi.
The delegation visited various sites across the XJTLU campus and praised XJTLU’s international education and open campus environment.
Mr Qiang Li, offered his expectation of XJTLU’s development, saying: “I hope that XJTLU will become truly a new type of university which integrates various innovation resources domestically and even internationally.”
