Delegation to XJTLU School of Mathematics and Physics from the University of Liverpool

From November 27 to November 29, a delegation from the University of Liverpool visited the School of Mathematics and Physics. During the three-day visit, the delegation had in-depth discussions with the School regarding the School's teaching, research and development goals.

Professor Fei Ma, Associate Vice President of Research and Impact of XJTLU and Dean of the School of Mathematics and Physics at XJTLU, warmly welcomed the delegation's arrival from the University of Liverpool at the research seminar.

“We are looking for research collaboration opportunities and the potential for shared research interests to learn more about each other. Specially, we hope this can be the beginning of international collaboration in the future”, says Professor Fei Ma.

After having taught many XJTLU students during her 12 years at the University of Liverpool, Professor Corina Constantinescu, Director of the Institute for Financial and Actuarial Mathematics, Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Liverpool, visits the XJTLU campus and meets academics in the School of Mathematics and Physics this time.

“Our objective is to enhance research collaboration and facilitate joint PhD supervision. Additionally, we intend to discuss our current programs and future plans. We believe that meeting in person will significantly impact and strengthen our partnership, yielding mutual rewards.” she says.

Dr Joel Haddley, Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at the University of Liverpool, says he is impressed by the 2+2 students he taught, who show great independence in their learning. He also gave a public lecture on the topic of "The Mathematics of Pizza Slicing - Disk Dissections and their Combinatorics."

The visit was a success, and both sides expressed their willingness to carry out further exchanges and cooperation in the future.
