1,248 students awarded for academic excellence

A total of 1,248 students at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University received academic scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year, a decision approved by the XJTLU Scholarship Committee in August 2024.

The University offers two types of scholarships: the Progression Scholarships and the Continuing Academic Merit Scholarships (formerly known as the Retention of Entry Scholarships). These awards are given to students based on their academic performance in the previous academic year.

The Progression Scholarship is divided into two categories: the University Academic Excellence Award and the University Academic Achievement Award. Students who rank in the top 5% of the programme cohort will receive the University Academic Excellence Award of 10,000 RMB, while students in the top 5.1% to 10% will receive the University Academic Achievement Award of 5,000 RMB. In both cases, students must achieve an overall average mark of 65%.

The Continuing Academic Merit Scholarships are awarded to students who had received the Entry Scholarships or the Retention of Entry Scholarships in the 2023-2024 academic year, and continued to rank in the top 25% of the programme cohort with an overall average mark of 60%.

This year, 573 students received the University Academic Excellence Award, 534 students the University Academic Achievement Award, and 141 students the Continuing Academic Merit Scholarship.
