The Health Humanities Research Group, part of the Center for Culture, Communication, and Society (CCCS) at XJTLU, China is delighted to announce this call for abstracts for the First International Health Humanities Conference, to be held in Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Suzhou.
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
The conceptualisation of medical remedies in a global and historical context
Ageing and care in a global context
Health and medical practices in indigenous and/or aboriginal contexts
Narratives of health and illness in the Global South
The intersection of culture, religion, health, and illness
The role of traditional approaches to health and medicine in contemporary health practices
Art and health
Space and health
Health Communication
We welcome a diverse range of humanities perspectives, and/or interdisciplinary approaches.
Please send abstracts of 300 words to health.humanities@xjtlu.edu.cn by the deadline of 16th December 2024(5pm Beijing Time). We aim to inform participants of acceptance by the end of January 2025.
