Dr Qiufeng Wang

Dr Qiufeng Wang is currently an associate professor and the head of Department of Intelligent Science at the School of Advanced Technology in Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). His research interests are pattern recognition, machine learning, document analysis and recognition.

Dr Xiaobo Jin

Dr Xiaobo Jin is an associate professor at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. His research interests are machine learning and computer vision.

Dr Xi Yang

Dr Yang is currently a lecturer at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. Her research interests are Bayesian probabilistic approaches to machine learning, pattern recognition and data mining.

Professor Kaizhu Huang

Professor Kaizhu Huang is currently a Professor at Duke Kunshan University, and visiting professor at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. His research interests are machine learning and pattern recognition.
He worked as Adjunct Professor in Stirling University and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Prof. Huang obtained his PhD degree from Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2004. He worked in Fujitsu Research Centre, CUHK, University of Bristol, National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2004 to 2012. Prof. Huang has been working in machine learning, neural information processing, and pattern recognition. He was the recipient of 2011 Asia Pacific Neural Network Society (APNNS) Younger Researcher Award. He received best paper or book award five times. Until now, he has published 9 books and over 200 international research papers (about 100 SCI papers) e.g., in journals (JMLR, Neural Computation, IEEE T-PAMI, IEEE T-NNLS, IEEE T-BME, IEEE T-Cybernetics) and conferences (NeurIPS, IJCAI, SIGIR, UAI, CIKM, ICDM, ICML, ECML, CVPR). He serves as associated editors in three international journals and board member in three international book series. He has been sitting in the grant evaluation panels in Hong Kong RGC, Singapore AI programmes, and NSFC, China. He served as chairs in many international conferences and workshops such as BICS, ICONIP, AAAI, ACML, ICDAR, ACPR, and SDA. He was invited as keynote speaker in more than 20 international conferences or workshops.
