Short Courses

Autumn and spring Chinese language courses

Non-credit Chinese short courses offer non-degree international students beginning to advanced Chinese language skills. Each course includes 12 hours of lessons per week, with 16 teaching weeks per semester. With small class sizes and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, our experienced teachers will help you enjoy the learning process and gain confidence in using new language skills in daily life.

We invite you to join our programme if you:

• are already in China or want to come to China to study the Chinese language intensively;
• would like to study the Chinese language and be more engaged with the academic community at a vibrant international university; or
• would like to enhance your Chinese language proficiency before or after enrolling in/completing a degree programme in China.

The Chinese Language Summer School programme at XJTLU combines Chinese language learning with cultural immersion through a structured, intensive curriculum. Designed for practical application, the courses place students in appropriate class levels to develop all core skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The courses teach functional language for real-life scenarios in China, including visiting, living, working, and travelling.

Beyond the classroom, curated extracurricular activities provide authentic insights into aspects of traditional Chinese culture while reinforcing language development.

The classes are at XJTLU’s Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) campus.
