Professor Jun Hong, distinguished professor and doctoral supervisor, is currently a member of the and the Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Professor Hong is the Director of the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Modern Design and Rotor-Bearing Systems, Executive Director of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering, Director of the Automation Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering, and Rotating Vice-Chair of the China Mechanical Engineering Excellence Engineer Education Alliance.
He is also a member of the Ministry of Science and Technology key special expert group, “Manufacturing Basic Technology and Key Components”.
Professor Hong has long been engaged in research in digital design and manufacturing, and has presided over more than 30 research projects, including the national key research and development programmes, national major science and technology projects, National High-Tech R&D Program (863 Program), National Key Basic R&D Program (973 Program), and Natural Science Foundation and provincial and ministerial research projects. His research results have won the second prize in the National Technology Invention awards and the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress awards.
Professor Hong has published more than 200 SCI/EI papers as the first and corresponding author and has been granted more than 60 national invention patents and more than 10 national software copyrights. He has won the “Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society Youth Science and Technology Achievement Award” and the “General Motors China University Innovation and Technology Talent Award”.
