Year One entry
1. Joint Entrance Examination
A minimum grade of 400 on the Joint Entrance Examination to Chinese Universities for Overseas Chinese Students and Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

2. Taiwan GSAT
General Scholastic Ability Test (GSAT) ranking of at least top 50 percent for 4 subjects, including English and Math.

3. HKDSE
HKDSE with 333 in relevant subjects, including 3 in English Language and Mathematics.
4. High School Diploma
High school performance with a minimum B or 70-80% average in all subjects as well as relevant subjects.
Year Two entry
1. HKDSE
HKDSE with 444 in relevant subjects, including 4 in English Language (with no component score less than 4) and Mathematics.
2. International Qualifications

International Students
Year One entry
We welcome applications from high-quality candidates in all subjects with appropriate high school or equivalent qualifications. Students will normally be expected to have a high standing in their high school performance with a minimum B average in all subjects as well as relevant subjects.
Year Two entry
Students who have completed A-levels or International Baccalaureate (or equivalent) will be considered for entry into Year Two, different programmes have different subject-relevant requirements.
- A-level: BBB
- IB Diploma: 30 points
- Advanced Placement Tests/Subject SATS--High school diploma with a GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above, plus:
- 3 SAT II Subject Test 600+ or
- 3 AP exams 4+ or
- Either SAT I Test at 1280+ or ACT Composite Score at 27, and 2 AP exams 4+ or 2 SAT II Subject Test 600+
Notes:
- BEng Architecture, BA Filmmaking, BA TV Production & BA Digital Media Arts: require a digital copy portfolio review and an interview with members of Departments of Architecture and Design & School of Film and TV Arts, which can be conducted in person or via the Internet.
- BA International Business with a Language year 2 entry: applicants who do not select Chinese should be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of Spanish (DELE A1) or Japanese (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test N5).
- Programme in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Design and Technology Science and so on require Mathematics and Physics.
- Programme in Architecture, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Chemistry, Mathematics, Science and Digital Media Arts and so on require Mathematics.

English Language Requirements
For international applicants, if you are a non-native English speaker, or if you have not previously studied in English, you must have satisfactory English language skills to study at XJTLU. Various English qualifications are accepted:
Year One entry
- IELTS: 5.0 (min 4.5 in all sections)
- TOEFL: 62 (iBT)
Year Two entry
- IELTS 6.5 (min 5.5 in all sections)
- TOEFL: 90 (iBT) (min 21 in any skill)
English qualifications are not required for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who take the Joint Examination or the GSAT.
Students who are entering into Year One with less than IELTS 6.0 or equivalent in their English proficiency will take 10 credits EAP, and students with IELTS 6.0 or above will take 5 credits EAP.
Notes:
IELTS Indicator Test is accepted for Year 1 entry for 2020 Sep intake.
TOEFL iBT Special Home Test is accepted for both Year 1 and Year 2 entry for 2020 Sep intake.

It is essential, to have passed at least four ICAEW Certificate Level (CFAB) papers on entry. Equivalent degrees or papers are also acceptable if qualified as Credit for Prior Learning by ICAEW or ACCA. Students who have not completed CFAB will need to do so prior to seeking full membership of the ICAEW Applicants who do not have an equivalent UK degree in Accounting will also be considered if they have completed the six ICAEW Certificate Level (CFAB) papers or equivalent. Applicants with a professional background rather than a degree need to demonstrate relevant training record and working experience in an accounting and finance environment. If you miss the English language requirements by 0.5 – 1.0 of an overall IELTS band but meet the language requirements for the Pre-sessional English (PSE) Course (including minimum component scores or equivalents), you may be accepted onto the PSE course subject to Programme Director’s approval. Upon successful enrolment on the PSE course, you will be able to change your XJTLU Master’s offer letter to ‘Unconditional’ for English level.
Conditional offer holders
If you are a conditional offer holder, you can also send an email to pgadmissions@xjtlu.edu.cn to apply to take the onsite Password English language test provided by XJTLU in lieu of an IELTS/TOEFL or its equivalent.
Please note that the Password Test is only available to students who have been issued a conditional offer to study at XJTLU. In principle, the University provides one Password Test opportunity for each conditional offer holder.

Additionally, students who are admitted onto a Master’s programme by taking the Pre-sessional English (PSE) Course are required to complete English language modules listed on the Programme Specification on a pass/fail basis as part of their Additional Learning Activity plan during their studies at XJTLU.
