Constructing the Time-Machine: Digitalisation of Yangtze River Culture and Innovation of Space
In the digital era, many countries around the world have begun to drive the migration of cultural resources to digital space, from the early virtual reconstruction of spatial symbols to the construction of digital archives, and then to spatiotemporal big data projects. They not only reflect the irreplaceable value of spatial symbols in memory shaping, identity recognition, and cultural dissemination, but also reflect the reconfiguration of the global cultural landscape in the era of digital civilization. This lecture will introduce the overall concept of the “Yangtze River Time-Machine Project”, which is to construct a historical and cultural map of the Yangtze River spanning thousands of years, and then map the spatio-temporal evolution of the Yangtze River throughout human history. The digitization of the “Yangtze River” can effectively support the construction of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park and explore new forms and pathways for the integration of virtual and real cultural infrastructure construction for future China.
