The TransMedia Research Group brings together researchers, practitioners, and students interested in the rapidly changing relationships between translation, media, technology, and society. Our work focuses particularly on multimedia translation, platform localisation, multicultural media convergence, and transnational media communities, while welcoming interdisciplinary perspectives from translation studies, media and communication studies, sociology, cultural studies, and related fields.
The group provides a collaborative space for exchanging ideas, developing research projects, sharing professional practices, and fostering dialogue between academia and industry. Through seminars, workshops, research collaborations, and student engagement, we aim to explore how media content, practices, technologies, platforms, and communities increasingly intersect and transform one another across linguistic, cultural, and geographical boundaries.
