Department of China Studies

The Department of China Studies at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University teaches and researches China’s history and culture, society and politics, business and economics. It has academic programmes that are open to both Chinese and international students – teaching is in English and no prior knowledge is required. The department also has an active outreach educational programme for staff at XJTLU and in the wider community.

The Department of China Studies is a part of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Part of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Department teaches the modules of the BA China Studies, MA China Studies and Year in China/Diploma in China Studies programmes, as well offering supervision for the PhD China Studies.

Students at universities anywhere in the world may, with the permission of their home university, enrol for a semester or a year of China Studies at XJTLU.
