Programme Detail

Programme 1: Academic English and Intercultural Communication

If you are ready to move beyond exam-oriented English learning and keep pace with English-taught academic classrooms, this programme will guide you through the transition from “learning English” to “learning in English.” You will achieve a comprehensive upgrade in both thinking and expression within authentic academic contexts.

You will systematically enhance your core academic English skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and master essential university-level competencies such as academic presentations, essay writing, and engaging with academic literature. Through simulated debates, academic presentations, and other practical exercises, you will strengthen your critical thinking and logical expression. Intercultural communication activities will deepen your understanding of cultural differences and equip you with the tools for effective collaboration and communication in international teams.

Four Dimensions to Cultivate Your English Proficiency

  • Logical Structuring: Construct well-reasoned arguments and communicate ideas with clarity and impact.

Working in small groups, you will tackle a project challenge, understanding the logic from conception to realization through hands-on practice, honing your engineering mindset and collaborative inquiry skills.
