Industry and Education Join Hands to Build a New Syntegrative Ecosystem

In May 2026, the XJTLU Professor in Industry Practice Review Panel convened its evaluation meeting. The review was conducted jointly by the ERDI directors or programme directors of each college, the Director of Industry Education (who also serves as the IMDP Programme Lead), and the Director of Business Development for the Taicang campus. All candidates were outstanding graduates of the IMDP who had completed all programme requirements and necessary application procedures, and are senior practitioners in their respective industries. Following a comprehensive evaluation, 12 candidates were appointed as Professors in Industry Practice at XJTLU, with Professor Youmin Xi personally presenting the letters of appointment at the Ecosystem Conference.

IMDP Cohort 2 Defences Successfully Conclude, 14 "Secret Recipes" Illuminate the Syntegrative Classroom

In July 2026, The second cohort of the International Mentor Development Programme (IMDP) at XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) has successfully completed its final defences. After a rigorous process of "tempering", 14 industry elites from fields including financial investment, biomedicine, human resources, intelligent manufacturing, and strategic consulting stepped onto the podium with a renewed understanding of education. They are not only storytellers of their industries, but are also committed to becoming classroom facilitators, thought provocateurs, and co-creators of syntegrative education scenarios. Concurrently, following a comprehensive review by the XJTLU Professor in Industry Practice Review Panel, 12 senior industry practitioners from the inaugural IMDP cohort were officially appointed as Professors in Industry Practice at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. At the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) Ecosystem Conference held on 30 May, Professor Youmin Xi presented the new appointees with their letters of appointment. This marks a deeper integration of these industry veterans – who are both skilled practitioners and effective educators – into the University's educational ecosystem, as they jointly explore innovative pathways for syntegrative education.
