Summer In-Company Consulting Projects (ICCP)

Summer In-Company Consulting Projects (ICCP)

Make your summer count by consulting online for a real company in China. Over four weeks (July–August), you’ll join a small, diverse team, tackle a live brief, and present practical recommendations, supported by an IBSS academic supervisor and an industry mentor. It’s hands-on, collaborative and because it’s online, it fits around your summer plans, wherever you are.

In 2025, 181 students, including 80 international students, collaborated with 32 companies across China. Since 2021, the programme has delivered 78 projects and engaged over 420 international participants.

Why get involved

  • Real clients, real impact: work on genuine business challenges and present to decision-makers
  • Guidance throughout: you’ll be assigned a supervisor from IBSS and a company mentor, to keep you on track
  • Boost your CV: build problem-solving, research, data analysis and teamwork skills, you can showcase in interviews and applications.

These consulting projects immerse students in real-world business challenges, where cross-cultural collaboration and themes such as digital transformation and data-driven decision-making are at the forefront

Hear from our ICCP participants

Tianyuan Chen

Suzhou New Century International Children’s Hospital

“I gained a deeper insight into the children’s healthcare industry and a better view of the newborn babies in China. I really enjoy doing some market research and giving some insights into the industry, because through this market research, I can have a better view of reality. Furthermore, Professor Zhang gave us lots of guidance which were quite meaningful. I still remember that even though it was 22:30, Professor Zhang would reply to our questions in the WeChat group, which I really appreciated.”

Ziyiyang Zhou

ZEISS

“The most valuable experience was working in such a diverse and international team, where members came from different academic stages and disciplines, ranging from undergraduates to postgraduates, from business to supply chain specialists. Each of us brought unique perspectives and strengths, which made every discussion both inspiring and insightful. What impressed me most was how these different viewpoints could be integrated into one coherent solution. This experience taught me that diversity is not just a concept but a powerful driver of creativity and problem-solving.”
