The Virtual Business Project Competition is organized by XJTLU IBSS supported by The Asia Institute. It will be held from July 15 to August 2, 2024. The competition is 100% online and it is 3 weeks in length and intensive, including pre-scheduled morning sessions and likely some small group work in the evenings. During this unique program, students are assigned to groups with other students from around the world. Examples of participating universities were Trinity College Dublin from Ireland, University Cape Town from South Africa, University of Monterrey from Mexico, Chulalongkorn University from Thailand, Simon Fraser University of Canada and many more, each team was assigned a mentor to provide guidance and works on real-world projects with organizations and companies in Asia, to help identify solutions for future implementation.
All projects addressed various important UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The students especially appreciated the opportunity to work in cross cultural teams. One student reflected that “the exchange of experiences and the ability to meet people from other countries was one of the highlights of the program. But the best part was being able to do this helping a company and people.”
