Industrial Development Advisory Board of the Academy of Life and Natural Sciences
The Industrial Development Advisory Board of the Academy of Life and Natural Sciences at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is a core advisory body established to closely align with industrial needs and promote the deep integration of industry, university, and research. Originally serving as the advisory board for the XJTLU Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy, the committee was reconstituted in September 2026 following the academy’s merger with the School of Science. Since then, it has consolidated resources and broadened its mandate to support the newly established Academy of Life and Natural Sciences.
Background
The biopharmaceutical sector in Suzhou and the broader Yangtze River Delta has experienced robust growth, marked by expanding scale and continuous innovation. Despite this momentum, opportunities remain to strengthen collaboration across the ecosystem. To dismantle these barriers and foster deep integration among “Society – University – Industry”, the Academy proactively established this Advisory Board to drive resource synergy and collaborative innovation.
Mission
Strategic Guidance: The Board provides forward-looking industry insights to shape the Academy’s strategic planning. By staying attuned to biopharmaceutical trends and technological breakthroughs, the Academy’s discipline development, talent cultivation, and research initiatives align with real-world industry demands.
Fostering Collaboration: Acting as a dynamic liaison within the “Society – University – Society” framework, the Board facilitates open communication and resource sharing. Through seminars, networking events, and matchmaking initiatives, it connects government bodies, research institutions, enterprises, and the Academy, laying a solid foundation for joint development.
Ecosystem Building: The Board serves as a catalyst for regional innovation. With the long-term goal of establishing a Biopharmaceutical Industry Club in the Yangtze River Delta, it unites upstream and downstream stakeholders to promote a thriving, mutually beneficial ecosystem that elevates the region’s overall competitiveness in biopharmaceuticals.
The Board comprises senior management representatives from cooperative enterprises and institutions of the Academy of Life and Natural Sciences. The organisational structure is as follows:
