Alumni Association & Contact Us

Our Creed: Co-build, Co-create, Share, Support, and Win-win

The Alumni Association is a professional network dedicated to the fields of health and scientific innovation. Within this community, we share the same professional language and harbour identical scientific and industrial aspirations. The Alumni Association serves as a 'warm harbour' and a 'bridge of communication' for every graduate and upcoming student. From the initial uncertainty upon leaving the university gates to resource matching throughout your professional journey, the Alumni Association will always be your strongest support in addressing doubts and providing guidance. It is not a stage for any single individual, but a pure, non-profit home co-built by all of us. I firmly believe that as long as we unite our minds and combine our efforts, the university will one day be immensely proud of our outstanding Alumni Association and celebrate the achievements of every striving alumnus.

Dr Xujia Wang

Founding President of the Alumni Association (Class of 2025 PhD Graduate in Biological Sciences)

About the Alumni Association

The Alumni Association of the Academy of Life and Natural Sciences was established by integrating and restructuring the profound academic foundations and expansive industry networks of the former School of Science and the former School of Advanced Technology. As a distinctive professional alumni network deeply rooted in health and life sciences, cutting-edge pharmaceuticals, data science, and green ecology, we adhere to the core mission of “Co-build, Co-create, Share, Support, and Win-win.”

The Association is dedicated to breaking down the barriers between academia and industry by regularly organising non-profit initiatives, including industry exchanges, career empowerment sessions, and academic salons. We not only build a collaborative ecosystem for lifelong learning and career synergy for thousands of global alumni, but also nurture talent cultivation and the future of the natural sciences through industry-education-research partnerships with our alma mater.

The Alumni Peer Program

To bridge the information gap, dispel career uncertainty, and guide the developmental paths of our current students, the Alumni Association officially launches “The Alumni Peer Program.” The inaugural cohort seeks to recruit 5 outstanding alumni mentors who excel in their respective fields.

Mentor Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in biopharmaceuticals, data science, environmental materials, or related industries.
  • An academic background that highly aligns with the school’s disciplines (Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Statistics, etc.).
  • Passionate about alumni community welfare and willing to dedicate time to giving back to the university.

Selection & Operation Mechanism

  • Selection Process: Open self-nomination—— Eligibility review by the Alumni Association Secretariat ——Brief online interview to confirm mutual alignment.
  • Operational Model: Each alumni mentor will be precisely paired with 1 to 3 current students and will conduct at least 2 in-depth exchanges, either online or offline, per semester.
  • Core Support: Providing students with accurate industry insights, career planning advice, resume optimisation, and interview coaching.

Long-term Incentives & Future Outlook

  • The Secretariat will regularly collect two-way feedback from both mentors and mentees.
  • An annual selection will be held to recognise and honour “Outstanding Alumni Mentors.”
  • Upon successful pilot operations, the program will scale up to expand the mentor pool, cover more majors, and support a broader student body.
