Professional Accreditation

Professional accreditation provides independent recognition and assurance that a university’s programmes meet the rigorous standards of a specific profession or industry.

Programmes in the Academy of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology (AIAT) are accredited by one of two international professional societies: the UK’s Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

 

IET-accredited Programmes

The IET is one of the world’s leading professional societies for engineers and technicians, dedicated to advancing and sharing knowledge, and promoting science, engineering and technology worldwide.

The following AIAT undergraduate programmes are accredited by the IET at partial CEng (Chartered Engineer) level:

  • BEng Computer Science and Technology
  • BEng Electrical Engineering
  • BEng Electronic Science and Technology
  • BEng Telecommunications Engineering
  • BEng Digital Media Technology
  • BEng Mechatronics and Robotic Systems

The following master’s programmes are accredited by the IET at partial CEng FL (Chartered Engineer Further Learning) level:

  • MRes Computer Science
  • MRes Low Carbon Electrical Power and Energy Technology
  • MRes Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems
  • MSc Applied Informatics
  • MSc Human-Computer Interaction
  • MSc Multimedia Telecommunications

BCS-accredited Programmes

BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, is an internationally respected professional body with nearly 70,000 members in more than 150 countries. Its aim is to help the IT industry address ethical challenges, support people working in the IT field and ensure that IT benefits society.

The following AIAT undergraduate programme is accredited by BCS at full CITP (Chartered IT Professional) level:

The following master’s programmes are accredited by BCS at partial CEng FL (Chartered Engineer Further Learning) and partial CITP (Chartered IT Professional) levels:
