The “My teacher, my Choice” initiative aims to recruit new teachers to the Chinese Cultural Teaching Centre. It requires all candidates to choose a subject and conduct a 10 to 15 minute demonstration of their teaching in a real classroom setting, before students themselves make a decision on whether the candidate can continue to the next stage of recruitment. Candidates will only progress to the interview round if they get the support more than 70 per cent of students in the class.
Since the activity was implemented 2013, the centre has hired many teachers who are loved by students. The initiative gives students the opportunity to choose their favourite teachers and allows candidates to demonstrate their personal charm and the teaching skills fully.
