Members of the department teach a large number of undergraduate students in Marketing, Business Administration, Information Management and Information Systems programmes as well as postgraduate students enrolled in Operations and Supply Chain Management, Project Management as well as Management or International MBA.
Our MSc Operations and Supply Chain Management has been among the most popular PG programmes at IBSS. The BSc Information Management and Information Systems has been a Jiangsu Branded Programmes for three years and also ranked as a National First Class Programme more recently.
Our research strengths are in supply chain management, logistics management, operational research, information systems and big data management, service marketing and consumer behaviour. These research strengths mirror three national-level research grants secured by faculty members in 2019 as well as a cohort of ongoing full-time PhD students. The department has secured the majority of the NSFC grants awarded to IBSS.
Our research strategy is to cultivate and promote the world-class research among academic staff members and PhD students towards the quality-end of UK-ABS3 [Australian ABDC-A] or above journals, such as Journal of Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Service Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and many others.
