A truly international department, IOM comprises a diverse and dynamic team of academics from across the globe, including Australia, Belgium, China, the Czech Republic, Italy, Japan, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Collectively, IOM possesses a wealth of knowledge and real-world experience in the areas of operations and supply chain management, information systems, and marketing analytics and strategy.
Cutting-edge business education. Our faculty deliver a wide portfolio of courses, systematically designed to ensure our students have solid theoretical and methodological groundings in the skills of strategic value to employers in the modern economy, including mandatory AI in Business and data analytics modules. We offer a suite of more than 50 modules across Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes—BA Marketing, BSc Information Management and Information System, MSc Operations and Supply Chains Management, MSc Project Management and a PhD in Management—allowing students to develop specialisms in areas that reflect their personal passions and career aspirations. The BSc Information Management and Information Systems has been recognized as a Jiangsu Branded Programme for three years and also ranked as a National First Class Programme.
Academic thought leadership. IOM faculty are at the forefront of international academic inquiry, addressing contemporary business and social challenges and emerging trends. Our experts’ work is regularly published in elite journals including (but not limited to): Manufacturing and Service Operations Management; MIS Quarterly; Production and Operations Management; Journal of Operations Management; Information Systems Research; Harvard Business Review; Journal of Business Ethics; British Journal of Management; European Journal of Operational Research; European Journal of Information Systems; Information Systems Journal; Journal of the Association for Information Systems; Journal of Management Information Systems; Journal of Retailing; International Journal of Operations and Production Management; Management Information Systems; Risk Analysis; Journal of Travel Research; and, Tourism Management, among others. IOM faculty sit on editorial and review boards on leading journals, including Information Systems Research, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Journal of Business Research, and Internet Research, among others. In recognition of research excellence our faculty have been awarded numerous prestigious research grants; since 2022, we have received five grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and one Philosophy and Social Science grant from the Ministry of Education (MoE) of China.
Research with community impact. IOM faculty a deeply committed to fostering collaboration with local and global industry leaders, allowing us to deliver value for the communities that we serve, via career development opportunities for students and innovative business solutions for our industrial collaborators. Currently, our team are engaged in various consultancy projects with global brands across multiple sectors, including, pharmaceuticals (e.g., AstraZeneca), automobiles (e.g., Zeekr), technology solutions (e.g., Bosch), FMCGs (e.g., Mondelez) etc.
