Many of our staff have abundant experience teaching students from different countries and diverse backgrounds. Our staff continue to sharpen their skills by engaging in professional development, including attaining membership into the UK’s Higher Education Academy (HEA), through an accredited postgraduate programme.
Staff aim to create an interactive class environment in which students take charge of their own learning and develop as independent thinkers. They also offer one-on-one supervision, working closely with students while they write their Final Year Project or MSc dissertation, and helping them with applications for further studies or jobs.
A broad and diverse curriculum that prepares students for media and communication jobs and for entry into prestigious postgraduate programs;
A focus on the important topics of digital media, film, journalism and public relations;
A focus on learning about and doing academic research into media and communication;
A range of intellectually challenging assessments, including essays, individual and group presentations, case studies, video essays, promotional videos, film reviews, and much more;
Hands-on production modules, including news and feature writing and video production;

BA students can choose to take the last two years of their degree at the University of Liverpool. The Department also offers MSc and PhD degrees in Media and Communication. All three programmes lead to a degree from the University of Liverpool, a global top 200 university.
