Dr. Bai-ling Zhang is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science & Software Engineering Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia1999 and doctorial degree in Communication and Electronic System from the South China University of Technology, 1992, respectively. Before joining XJTLU, he had been a lecturer with the School of Computer Science and Mathematics in the Victoria University, Australia, from 2003 to 2008, and assistant professor in the School of Information Technology in Bond University, Australia, from 2001 and 2002. Before 2001, he was a research staff in the Kent Ridge Digital Labs (KRDL), Singapore. Prior to the research activities in Singapore, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, University of Sydney.
Dr. Bailing Zhang has extensive achievements in pattern recognition and machine learning for biometrics, bioinformatics & health informatics. He has extensive teaching experience in broad areas of computer science such as computer graphics, game programming, computer vision and pattern recognition, human computer interaction, mathematics, multimedia and programming. He has published over 60 papers in a number of international journals and presented over 70 papers at various international conferences.
