Profile

Syed Abbas received his PhD in Economics from Deakin University and Graduate Certificate in tertiary teaching from University of Melbourne. He was teaching at Deakin University and Box Hill Institute before joining IBSS in September 2017. His main areas of research are macroeconomics and applied econometrics, with recent publications in Empirical Economics and Economic Record. He is currently working on inflation targeting policy, asymmetric monetary policy, globalization, and smooth transition models.
