Why call it a Learning Mall?

The XJTLU Learning Mall provides online and onsite space, or “storefronts,” for top global partners to share their learning content with its users. It will integrate onsite and online programmes developed by the University, industry, and external partners, offering them as learning resources to a wide net of different education consumers. The overarching goal of the XJTLU Learning Mall is to act as an engaging innovation community, allowing its collaborators freedom to develop their resources within its creative hub.

What does the online and onsite XJTLU Learning Mall look like?

The online space of XJTLU Learning Mall is an online community platform gathering educational products and resources created by the University schools and top global partners.

The onsite XJTLU Learning Mall facility is integrated with the University’s physical environment, including both SIP and Taicang campuses, and more locations with the development of XJTLU.

“Storefront” space, whether online or onsite, represents a unique opportunity for education-focused businesses to showcase resources through the XJTLU Learning Mall, with its links to internal and external stakeholders, particularly those who offer content and services. By fostering an inviting space and leveraging premier partners’ strengths, the XJTLU Learning Mall will forge a 21st-century alliance of like-minded entrepreneurs to make better contributions to the development of higher education and social progress in China and the world.

Our Story

Seventeen years since its establishment, XJTLU has developed three education models coined XJTLU 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 respectively with efforts grounded in the University’s characteristics and future development trends, to radiate meaningful impacts on education in both China and around the world.

XJTLU Talent Cultivation Models are:

  • Education Model 1.0: This model represents a transformation and upgrade of the traditional programme-based elite education approach. It embodies a student-centered and learning-focused model aimed at healthy growth, advocating personalized, interest-driven, and research-led learning while enhancing students’ understanding of the industry background.
  • Education Model 2.0: This syntegrative education model abandons the specialization-oriented approach, instead combining specialized knowledge, entrepreneurial education, and leadership training through in-depth industry collaboration.
  • Education Model 3.0: This model breaks down the barriers of the university and immerses it in society. By leveraging its relatively neutral status and forward-looking mindset, the university integrates government, industry, and other relevant social resources to form a systematic innovative ecosystem for various industries.

To support the effective running of XJTLU education philosophy, on 22 May, 2020, the University launched the XJTLU Learning Mall, a support platform that draws on first-rate global educational resources and integrates online and offline operations, creating a multi-faceted learning environment that spans across regions, age groups, level of education, and interests. In July 2022, Learning Mall transformed into two platforms – Learning Mall Core and Learning Mall Premium. Learning Mall Core provides online learning and teaching supports for XJTLU students and staff in degreed studies, and Learning Mall Premium offers content and services in non-degree education for all users.
