The XJTLU International Student Study Programme offers young global learners a unique opportunity to explore the dynamic interplay between cutting‑edge technology and profound cultural traditions in China’s Yangtze River Delta. This interdisciplinary experience integrates future‑tech engagement, cultural discovery, academic coursework, and industry visits, guiding students on a transformative journey that expands intellectual horizons and fosters a global mindset.

 

Programme Features

Immersive English Academic Environment

All courses and activities are conducted entirely in English, reflecting the international academic setting of XJTLU. This immersive approach enables students to adapt quickly while enhancing their English communication and academic expression in authentic contexts.

 

Where Technology Meets Culture

The curriculum blends cutting-edge technology—including AI, VR, robotics, and AIGC—with the richness of Chinese language, arts, history, and humanities. Through interactive language sessions and field visits, students gain a multifaceted perspective on contemporary China’s technological advances and cultural heritage.

 

Learning Led by XJTLU Faculty

Students engage in themed lectures, hands-on workshops, and seminars led by XJTLU instructors and gain practical experience in advanced laboratories through experimental sessions. This learn‑by‑doing approach bridges theory with practice, ensuring a systematic and in‑depth academic experience.

 

Collaborative and Cross-Cultural Learning

Through group projects, city explorations, and a final presentation, students tackle real‑world challenges, strengthening cross‑cultural leadership and teamwork skills while building lasting international friendships and global networks.

 

Experience the Dynamic Yangtze River Delta

The programme includes visits to XJTLU’s Suzhou Industrial Park campus, the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang), and key cities like Shanghai. Corporate tours and urban discovery offer firsthand insight into the region’s economic vitality and cultural depth, broadening perspectives beyond the classroom.

 

Programme Structure

The programme balances academic rigor with practical relevance and can be tailored in content, intensity, and scheduling for students aged 12–18. The core experience comprises three integrated modules:

  • Academic Courses

      Frontier Technology: Introduces AI fundamentals, VR applications, interactive robotics, and AIGC creative projects—complemented by lab sessions that strengthen both conceptual understanding and hands‑on skills.

      China Studies: Explores traditional Chinese culture, contemporary economic development, and cross-cultural communication—using case studies and group discussions to deepen critical thinking and cultural awareness.

 

  • Practical Exploration

      Group Projects: Working in teams under faculty guidance, students systematically develop problem‑solving, presentation, and collaboration skills through project‑based learning.

      Industry Visits: Includes tours to technology companies, industrial parks, and innovation hubs across the Yangtze River Delta, offering real‑world insight into the integration of technology and industry.

 

  • Cultural Immersion

      Cultural Site Visits: Field‑based learning atSuzhou’s classical gardens, the Pingjiang Road Historic District, Shanghai’s Bund, and other landmarks—experiencing directly how tradition and modernity coexist in Chinese urban life.

      Language & Cultural Practice: Introductory practical Chinese courses are integrated with cultural experiences such as martial arts and traditional instrument sessions. These interactive activities are designed to foster a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
