Hyung Rae Cho is an assistant professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Design at XJTLU. He received his PhD with a concentration in urban planning and design from Seoul National University's the Graduate School of Environmental Studies. He holds his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in urban planning and design from University College London's the Bartlett School of Planning. He was a visiting research fellow for Environmental Planning Institute at Seoul National University. His current research interests include urban shrinkage, regeneration, smart decline for sustainable cities, and urban psychology for liveable communities.
