Xuefeng Wang is currently an associate professor in planning in the Department of Urban Planning and Design at Xi’an Jiaotong – Liverpool University, Suzhou. Before moving to Suzhou, he had worked as a planning professional in China and the UK for many years. He moved back to academia in 2007 and has since been involved in teaching and research in planning and human geography. His research interests focus on urban and regional development, concerning the spatial patterns of urbanisation and their relations to the growth mode of economies, including questions of spatial planning and the concepts and theory of governance of urbanisation and regional development.Xuefeng is recruiting postgraduate research students which leads to the award of Ph.D in the areas such as spatial planning, rural development, urbanisation (particularly the evolving trend of spatial patterns of rural-urban migrants in China), local and regional governance, etc. If you are interested in studying a Ph.D in these and related topics with Xuefeng, please get in touch.
