The School of Internet of Things is developing long-term research platforms to support AIoT and Internet of Intelligence research. These platforms will grow from the School’s research clusters and provide stronger support for applied research, industry collaboration, doctoral training, and large-scale interdisciplinary projects.
Development Pathway
The School’s platform development follows a staged pathway from research clusters to research labs, then to joint labs or research centres, and eventually toward institute-level platforms. This approach allows the School to build research capability gradually, based on faculty expertise, PhD development, industry needs, and platform readiness.
Industry Collaborative Research Centre
The School is also developing an Industry Collaborative Research Centre to strengthen industry-sponsored research, company-sponsored PhD projects, TIX-PhD projects, joint laboratories, and applied AIoT validation.
The Centre will serve as a bridge between faculty expertise, industry needs, doctoral training, and real-world deployment.
