Our research aims to move from ideas to prototypes, from prototypes to testbeds, and from testbeds to deployable solutions. This approach supports technology validation, industry collaboration, talent development, and long-term innovation.
Research Serving XEC, Industry and Talent Development
The School’s research supports the mission of XJTLU Entrepreneur College by connecting interdisciplinary research, industry collaboration, and talent development.
We aim to create a research ecosystem in which academic research, applied innovation, industry engagement, and student training reinforce one another. Research outcomes may include academic publications, prototype systems, applied platforms, testbeds, patents, industry reports, enterprise solutions, and doctoral training outputs.
This research model also supports the School’s education strategy. Undergraduate, MSc, and PhD students may engage with research-informed teaching, AIoT+X pathway projects, lab-based experimentation, industry challenges, and supervisor-led research topics.
Research with Socio-Economic Impact
The School of Internet of Things aims to generate research outcomes that contribute not only to academic knowledge but also to regional development, enterprise innovation, public services, and sustainable intelligent systems.
By leveraging Suzhou’s industrial ecosystem and the wider Yangtze River Delta innovation environment, the School works with partners to explore AIoT solutions for manufacturing, healthcare, infrastructure, transportation, energy, smart living, and secure connected systems.
Our goal is to advance AIoT and the Internet of Intelligence through research that is academically rigorous, technically deep, practically relevant, and socially responsible.
The School of Internet of Things conducts research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, IoT systems, edge intelligence, cybersecurity, sensing, networking, embedded systems, and real-world applications.
Our research moves beyond traditional device connectivity toward AI-native intelligent systems and the Internet of Intelligence. We aim to build intelligent, trustworthy, and deployable AIoT systems that connect the digital and physical worlds.
Located within the strong industrial ecosystem of Suzhou and the Yangtze River Delta, the School places particular emphasis on applied research that can generate real impact for industry and society. We support both government-funded and industry-funded research, including vertical research projects, horizontal enterprise collaborations, TIX-PhD projects, company-sponsored PhD research, and joint research platforms.
Through this model, the School aims to build a research ecosystem that connects academic excellence, industrial innovation, talent development, and socio-economic impact.
