Thijs Kouwenhoven is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at XJTLU (Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University) in Suzhou. Prior to that I was a Bairen research professor at the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (KIAA) at Peking University. He was born in the Netherlands, and  spent time at the Leiden Observatory, the University of Amsterdam, and Sheffield University. His research focuses mainly on the dynamical evolution of planetary systems, binary/multiple systems, and star clusters.
