XJTLU Middle School Global Competence Immersion Camp 2026

In 2026, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University officially launches the Global Competence Immersion Camp for motivated middle school students – a chance to experience university life, discover new interests, and grow both inside and outside the classroom.

 

Programme Dates: 8 – 13 July 2026
Programme Location: XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang)
Target Audience: Middle school students aged 13–15
Language of Instruction: Bilingual (Chinese and English)

 

The camp offers an immersive bilingual environment where students engage with cutting-edge topics through hands-on activities, explore a range of subjects, and build friendships and confidence through teamwork.

 

Programme Components

Academic Module

Designed to develop bilingual skills and multidisciplinary thinking, this module uses inquiry-based, hands-on learning to give students a real taste of university-level study.

  • Fun English Workshop: Theme-based bilingual classes that help students improve their English communication skills in a relaxed, engaging setting.
  • Introduction to Business: Simulate real-world business scenarios, learn key concepts, and develop teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exploring Cutting-Edge Technology: Dive into AI, VR, robotics, and other emerging technologies – and discover the excitement of engineering design and innovation through interactive experiences.
  • Future City Designer: Explore creative urban design concepts and design future city blueprints while building critical thinking and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills.

 

Growth Module

Strengthen global awareness, collaboration, and communication – and put learning into action.

  • Intercultural Communication: Through bilingual exchanges, group interactions, and cultural immersion on an international campus, students learn to see things from multiple perspectives and become more confident communicators.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Working on real tasks, students develop listening skills, empathy, and a sense of responsibility – experiencing the power of working together.
  • Public Speaking and Presentation: Practice impromptu speaking, group presentations, and a final showcase to build clear expression and confidence in front of an audience.

 

Experience Module

Step beyond the classroom and discover university life through hands‑on experiences and activities.

  • Independent Living: Stay in XJTLU student accommodation, manage daily routines, and prepare for greater independence.
  • Sports and Well‑being: Evening sports sessions help students build physical strength, release energy, and form lasting friendships.
  • Campus Life Immersion: Explore the XJTLU campus, experience daily life at an international university, and get inspired for the future.

 

Programme Instructor

The programme is designed and delivered by experienced XJTLU faculty who understand how middle school students learn – making lessons engaging, accessible, and inspiring. Outstanding XJTLU students also serve as teaching assistants and residential advisors, supporting participants throughout the camp as both mentors and peers.

Fees

Learning Mall 5th Anniversary Price: 11,800 RMB per person
(Available for payments made by 1 May 2026)

Regular Price: 12,800 RMB per person

  • The fee includes tuition, materials, on-campus accommodation, meals, and insurance during the programme.
  • Free shuttle bus service will be provided on the registration day from Shanghai Pudong Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to the campus.*Please note: Specific shuttle bus schedules will be notified before the camp starts. If your arrival time falls outside the shuttle service window, please arrange your own transport to the registration point.

Step2: Add the course assistant

Scan the QR code below to add the course assistant on WeChat. Please include the student’s name + Middle School Summer Camp in the friend request remark.

 

Step3: Await review

After submitting all required documents, please patiently wait for the review process. The course assistant will contact you once the review is complete.

Step4: Receive Admission Letter

Upon approval of your application, you will receive an official Admission Letter via email. Please check your inbox and confirm the admission details as outlined in the letter.

Step5: Complete Payment

Proceed with the payment process with the assistance of the course assistant. The university’s official payment details will be emailed to the applicant’s email upon approval.
