We are a pioneering, international joint venture university located in the city of Suzhou on China's east coast. We are proud of our focus on research-led learning inherited from our parent institutions, the University of Liverpool and Xi'an Jiaotong University.
In the 2019 QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) rankings of Mainland China universities we have been ranked at number 79 among some of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the country.
Our business school is the youngest ever to earn AACSB International accreditation and we were the first in China to gain unconditional Part 1 accreditation from RIBA for our architecture degree. We also have accreditation from the JBM for our civil engineering programmes and the IET for our electrical and electronic engineering degrees.

The University of Liverpool was founded in 1881 and is a member of the Russell Group of 20 research-led UK universities that includes the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge and Imperial College London. Liverpool is associated with eight Nobel Prize winners.
Founded in 1896, Xi’an Jiaotong University is consistently ranked within the top 15 universities in China. It is a leading research-intensive university, focussing on science and technology subjects. It was prioritised by the State Council of China in the national Project 211 and Project 985, which both aim to strengthen universities in China to create world-class institutions.

To ensure we make effective use of our talented staff, we have established a number of interdisciplinary research institutes, centres and laboratories, focussing on topics ranging from biopharmaceutical science to design, and from quantitative finance to urbanisation.
