With the rapid development of the intelligent robotics industry, we have have seen increasing numbers of advanced technologies that are being developed. The School of Robotics aims to cultivating versatile talents with a wide understanding of robotics, expertise in the development of advanced technologies, integration of robotic technologies. They will focus on core industry issues, as well as learn and practice the ability to design and implement advanced robotic systems.

To achieve this, the School of Robotics is now providing with different goals for talent education at different levels, targeting both undergraduate and postgraduate educations. In the undergraduate programme, i.e., B.Eng. Intelligent Robotics Engineering with Contemporary Entrepreneurialism, it is featuring:

  • The programme under the XJTLU 2.0 Education Model: Experience the innovative XJTLU Syntegrative Education Model, guiding students to become professionals in the rapidly developing, complex, and intelligent technology-driven future industries. It aims to help students become elite talents leading and driving the development of emerging industries in relevant fields.
  • Comprehensive and practice-oriented UG programmes: Modules in the programme will cover a wide range of knowledge including computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, intelligent control, electrical and electronics, network communication, and perception technology, providing fundamental knowledge and practical experience. Besides, minor modules will cover leadership and communication skills, innovative thinking, business models, entrepreneurial practices, teamwork, and other knowledge and practical skills.
  • Integration among industries, academia, and research via multi-perspective deliveries: studies in this industry-themed school with collaboration with well-known companies will provide students opportunities to learn from both professional researchers and industry experts.
  • Studying with real-world issues: deliveries with practice and applications will provide students with knowledge and skill that will solve real-world problems in research and related industries.
  • Cross-campus studies: enjoy the wonderful XJTLU Taicang campus that was built on the concept for future world universities to explore interdisciplinary educations.
  • Dual certificates: Graduates will obtain degrees recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and internationally recognized degrees from the University of Liverpool.

Simultaneously, the School of Robotics is also committed to providing high-quality and in-depth professional training for doctoral students. It is equipped with state-of-the-art experimental facilities and has created an academic exchange environment that integrates industry, academia, and research. The School of Robotics will regularly organize domestic and international academic conferences and seminars in the intelligent robotics and relevant industries to adapt to the rapid development of technologies in the industry and the advanced applications of robotics in various sectors.

Under the guidance of mentors, doctoral students in the School of Robotics will conduct in-depth exploration and innovation in advanced technologies or significant problems that require urgent solutions. The School of Robotics will offer robust support for the incubation and transformation of doctoral students’ relevant research outcomes.

Doctoral students in the School of Robotics will receive joint guidance and supervision from professional academic staff within the school and supervisors from the University of Liverpool. Students will also have the opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions with experienced experts from relevant industries, collaboratively seeking solutions to significant challenges and breakthroughs in innovative technologies.
