Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University
Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is an international joint-venture university founded by Xi’an Jiaotong University in China and the University of Liverpool in the UK. As a Sino-foreign cooperative university, it captures the essence of both parent universities and is the largest of its kind approved by China’s Ministry of Education. The University offers more than 100 degree programmes in the fields of science, engineering, business, finance, architecture, urban planning, language, and culture. All programmes are taught in English. Upon successful completion of the programme, undergraduate students will earn two degrees – an XJTLU degree from China’s Ministry of Education, and a globally recognised degree from the University of Liverpool. Postgraduate students will receive a degree from the University of Liverpool, which is recognised by China’s Ministry of Education. All departments at XJTLU offer PhD programmes, which fulfils XJTLU’s vision to be a research-led international university in China and a Chinese university recognised internationally for its unique features.
National Centre of Technology Innovation for Biopharmaceuticals
National Center of Technology Innovation for Biopharmaceuticals (NCTIB) was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China (MOST) in March 2021, and is the first national technology innovation center in the field of biopharmaceuticals in China, with Suzhou Biomedical Industry Innovation Center as the main body. NCTIB appoints Academician Zhan Qimin as the director of the Expert Advisory Committee, focusing on key areas and key links of biopharmaceuticals such as therapeutic antibodies, new vaccines, nucleic acid drugs, cell and gene therapies, and focusing on four key construction tasks: research and development of key technologies, construction of public platforms, creation of industrial ecological links, and innovation of mechanisms and policies.

iGEM XJTLU-CHINA
XJLUT iGEM is a varsity team that focuses on international academic competitions in the field of synthetic biology, and has won gold, silver, and track nominations in previous years. iGEM program lasts for 9 months = XJTLU iGEM teams are formed in January-February each year, and the participating students independently and autonomously collaborate to complete the appropriate experiments, modeling, field research, and other research, and then present their results on the international stage in October-November in the form of webpages and defenses. XJTLU iGEM has a long history since its creation in 2015, and many seniors from previous teams have gone on to study for master's and doctoral degrees at Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and Karolinska Institutes of Medicine, among other top institutions in the world.
The 11th Conference of China iGEMer Community
The Conference of China iGEMer Community (CCiC) is the annual meet up for the China iGEMers, aiming at providing a platform for resource sharing, mutual learning, and exchange among participating iGEM teams and young synthetic biology enthusiasts in China. Since its inception in 2014, CCiC has played a pivotal role in maintaining the positive development of the community, serving as a national exchange summit related to synthetic biology competitions in China, and as an important academic communication platform for young synthetic biology enthusiasts in China. It has made significant contributions across academia, industry, and research, receiving widespread acclaim. Today, CCiC has become one of the largest academic conferences for university students in China. The conference brings together iGEM teams from across China to exchange project designs and progress, engage in intellectual discussions, and receive targeted questions and suggestions from guests and judges. Additionally, there will have wonderful lectures from experts and scholars in the field of synthetic biology.
This year, CCiC will be held in Suzhou with the theme of SynBio Nexus. The event is hosted by Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University, organized by XJTLU Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy and the iGEM XJTLU-CHINA team, and guided by the Youth Working Group of the Synthetic Biology Branch of the Chinese Society of Biotechnology, the Shenzhen Synthetic Biology Association Engineering Biology Youth Enthusiast Association, and the CCiC Executive Committee. The conference aims to gather young researchers, educators, and practitioners in the field of synthetic biology in China to explore how synthetic biology, as a central node of interdisciplinary science, connects foundational innovation, practical impact, and future application scenarios. The goal is to drive the resolution of global issues, propel emerging industries, and forecast its profound impact on the long-term development of the socio-economic landscape.
